Resumen

Este artículo presenta una evaluación del desempeño para distintas configuraciones y distribuciones de amortiguadores de fluido viscoso lineal para una estructura de acero de 9 niveles. El diseño de los amortiguadores se realizó mediante los manuales técnicos más utilizados para este tipo de dispositivos. El desempeño del modelo considerado se determinó a través de un análisis dinámico no lineal paso a paso. como demanda sísmica se utiliza la componente EW del registro SCT del temblor de Michoacán de 1985. De los resultados obtenidos se presentan conclusiones para el diseño de amortiguadores de fluido viscoso.
